“Transforming Social Capital To Financial Capital”

Helping Africa’s Disadvantaged Youth To Fulfill Their God-Given Potential

A New Kind Of Non-Profit Organisation

The Young Africa FOUNDATION is a registered Non-Profit Company (NPC) in South Africa. The aim is to create similar entities in each country in Africa over the next couple of years.

___________________________

Objective

Our Objective is to help Africa’s children and youth on a MASS SCALE to fulfill their God-given potential through promoting an understanding of Biblical teaching and providing access to holistic personal, community, business and spiritual development, thereby ERADICATING POVERTY on the Continent of Africa over the next three decades (by 2050).

Our Sources of Income:

  • The Young Africa FOUNDATION NPC ownes shares in different businesses in South Africa, in which it is a Level 1 B-BBEE Equity Partner. These businesses include:
    • mandala publishers – a publishing company owned by the Founder of the Young Africa FOUNDATION, Reinhild Niebuhr, through an investment instrument. 51% of shares of mandala publishers are owned by the Young Africa FOUNDATION NPC. This means that 51% of profit generated by this publishing company contributes directly to the funds of the Young Africa FOUNDATION NPC.
    • Young Africa COMMUNITY – a company which works on rolling out wireless data-hubs at schools and churches across Africa. This wireless data is made available at an affordable rate to students of the ACADEMY For A Young Africa, as well as to members of the community surrounding these schools and churches. The Young Africa FOUNDATION NPC owns 51% shares of Young Africa COMMUNITY in South Africa. In this way, 51% of any profit generated by Young Africa COMMUNITY through the sale of wireless data flows directly to the Young Africa FOUNDATION NPC.
    • Young Africa MARKETING – this company is working to establish digital marketing agencies in towns and villages all across Africa, using a franchise business model. Students of the ACADEMY For A Young Africa will be given an opportunity to own “Young Africa MARKETING” franchises in their home town or village, and provide digital marketing and other marketing, sales and communication services to business in their communities. 51% of the Young Africa MARKETING ‘franchisor’ company is owned by Young Africa FOUNDATION NPC. In this way, 51% of any profit generated by the Young Africa MARKETING franchisor flows into the work of the Young Africa FOUNDATION NPC.
  • GUARDIAN of Young Africa BIG DATA – as students of the ACADEMY For A Young Africa start gathering market research information as part of their studies in their home towns and villages, a lot of data that is extremely useful for strategic planning purposes by both public and private entities is being gathered. This BIG DATA is managed under the auspices of the Young Africa FOUNDATION NPC, so that:
    • any profit from income from providing access to this data on a subscription basis to interested parties flows directly into the supporting the work of the Young Africa FOUNDATION NPC.
    • The Young Africa FOUNDATION NPC ensures data privacy and security of all personal data collected by the ACADEMY For A Young Africa students.
  • GUARDIAN of Young Africa REWARDS – Young Africa REWARDS is a digital currency system developed by Young Africa VISION Founder, Reinhild Niebuhr, using existing software systems in an innovative way, and integrating this with her business platform, econovix, in order to provide a transactional system that can transform the social capital of students of the ACADEMY For A Young Africa, who are working as interns at their local non-profit organisations and are earning “Young Africa REWARDS” (YARs), may exchange these Reward Points for products and services on offer, either locally in their own community, or through online purchases from pre-approved businesses making use of the econovix marketplace. The Young Africa FOUNDATION raises grant funding from local and international grantmakers to provide the financial backing to give a monetary value to the points, thereby enabling a TRIPLE IMPACT for each dollar donated:
    • enabling an unemployed youth in Africa to be rewarded while completing an internship at a local non-profit organisation, which is aimed at assisting that youth with preparedness for the world of work;
    • increasing the capacity of local non-profit organisations, because the funding of internships makes it possible to offer such internships. Host organisations earn an administrative fee for managing the interns. This is funded through the grant funding from donors as well.
    • stimulating the local economy, since the Young Africa REWARD points may be used to pay for products and services on offer by participating and approved local retailers and service providers. In this way, the Young Africa REWARD system helps to grow local economies in towns and villages across Africa.

Introducing Our PROGRAMMES

The Young Africa FOUNDATION NPC focuses on raising funds for Four Strategic Programmes:

Programme 1: Young Africa REWARDS – we help unemployed youth to become ready for the world of work by raising funds to enable internships at local non-profit organisations, including Christian Church congregations.

Programme 2: Scholarship Programme – we raise funds so that as many as possible of Africa’s disadvantaged children can attend Christian Early Childhood Development Centres, Pre-Schools, Primary Schools, High Schools and live safely and well cared-for in Boarding Facilities, while completing their high school education.

Programme 3: Addiction Rehabilitation Programme – we help youth who have become victims of alcohol or drug addiction may recover from their addication and START FRESH!

Programme 4: Cross-Continental & International Youth Exchange Programme – we proactively create opportunities for youth to build relationships across borders all over Africa, as well as with youth in other parts of the world. We work through our networks of churches and welcome all Christian church denominations to work with us.

Our Founding Directors

The four brave “Spiritual Warriors” who agreed to become the “Founding Directors” of the Young Africa FOUNDATION NPC at the end of 2018, are from left to right: Nico den Oudsten, husband of the Young Africa VISION Founder (originally from the Netherlands, deceased in 2019); Pule Mathebe, Veronica Mntungwa – two young mentees of the couple – and Reinhild Niebuhr, Founder of the Young Africa VISION. None of these directors were famous or wealthy when they established the Young Africa FOUNDATION NPC. “We all simply are/were willing to serve God through our faith in Jesus Christ, by helping to create an enabling environment for Africa’s 200 million unemployed youth to fulfill their God-given potential.” – Reinhild Niebuhr

Let’s Empower Africa’s Youth To Fulfill Their God-Given Potential!

“But the Lord said, “My grace is all you need. Only when you are weak can everything be done completely by my power.” So I will gladly boast about my weaknesses. Then Christ’s power can stay in me. Yes, I am glad to have weaknesses if they are for Christ. I am glad to be insulted and have hard times. I am glad when I am persecuted and have problems, because it is when I am weak that I am really strong.

– 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
